Right From the Start – Part 1

Question: How do you know if your dream will lead to success?

You brainstorm; you have a million thoughts on how to launch your dream into a reality. There are obstacles, but what can possibly get in the way of you making an impact on the world?  The idea doesn’t have to be unique and it doesn’t matter if you invented the idea or not. What matters is that you have the passion and drive to make your dreams come true. Why are you going to make that widget or provide that service? It helps to ask that question and answer it with clarity in order to define what is at the core. Your answers will provide a compass for your path. Stick to the basics of the core concept. What moves you will move others as you venture out into the world.

I remember my first encounter with an epiphany. It occurred in my life when I was teaching students and adults how to read spell and process their school work. That was the highlight of my day. It wasn’t my business, but I was charged with tracking the people I serviced, the money I received and the clients on account. I have heard many a small business owner cry out the same feelings that I had “I didn’t start this business to be an accountant.” That couldn’t be farther from the truth, only I didn’t know it at the time.

When our clinic went to computers and automation, I realized the beauty of using a simple but powerful system to track my everyday activity. I fell head over heels with clicking a button and retrieving a report that used to take me hours to manually create. I fell for the powerful system that tracked our vital information. To me, it was not just the thrill of a new computer software and burning the bridges to the pegboard system but the retrieval of that vital information and how accessible and available it had become. It made life easy for ME. Translation: anyone can learn and I felt called to being that guiding light.

After 20 years of automating my clients accounting processes, I still don’t tire of helping people turn the light on to their business information. It is my way of changing their world and making it a better place.

So, my question to you is, how can you provide a solution that makes a difference?

Answer:  It all begins with your story personal story of WHY?
