There are so many new and improved aspects of TSheets that I don’t even know where to start. So I went to www.TSheets.com to get more information for this blog. On their website, they always show a rolling list of employee names and what location they are clocking in from. Today, it was someone from Allen Park, MI. What are the chances that it was someone from The Mitten (Michigan) as TSheets is found in over 60 countries. Maybe it was one of the Detroit Lions clocking in for football practice!
What I also found was a blog on their new integration with Square, which was the rage at the Plymouth, MI Art Fair. Every vendor pulls out their phone, swipes my credit card and uses Square to take my money and track income. But theres more to Square than that! Square is a retail solution that is widely used as a point of sale system and it is cloud based. Square already has a time card system, but it does not integrate with QuickBooks so that is the Ah HAH moment for TSheets. With a four digit code, an employee can clock into Square and that data synchronizes with TSheets. From there, the information is exported to a variety of places:
- QuickBooks Desktop using the Synch Manager or Web Connector
- QuickBooks Online using nothing but seamless integration
- Zen Payroll, a fabulous online payroll solution
- Third party payroll companies
A fabulous new improvement for TSheets are the clock in/clock out reminders. I’m guilty of forgetting to clock in sometimes when I’m at a client, but that is in the past as now TSheets has an alert system to text me to login based on my alert preferences. Whether company-wide or personalized, there is an Android or IPhone notification that reminds me it’s past 8:00am and I haven’t clocked in yet. I need a reminder like that on Monday morning to take out the garbage!
TSheets used to have the GPS icon only in the Timesheet list for all mobile activity. Now, that GPS information is right on the payroll report. I don’t know about you, but my contractor clients are crazy for the GPS tracking when their workers clock in/clock out of TSheets. GPS is only tracking their whereabouts when clocked in so no invasion of privacy here. But imagine how many business owners have a record of where their workers are. This isn’t just to catch an employee who isn’t where they say they are. This also protects the employee because they can prove they were where they were supposed to be. This proved to be favorable for one employee who was accused of a crime, but the TSheets time log, which was admissible in court, showed the GPS coordinate of the employee and he was not even near the scene. BAM, how cool is that?
